4 Bedroom House in Gloucester

A spacious, beautiful contemporary home on a private oceanfront estate near Gloucester's coveted Annisquam district, with access to two private sandy beaches, boating and a fresh water pond just outside the door. This fully furnished, newly renovated home has four bedrooms, two full bathrooms, hardwood floors, central air conditioning, a large deck with magnificent water views, an outdoor shower and a large yard. Only 150 yards away from two private sandy beaches, this sunny bright house also has access to two tennis courts that overlook the ocean, a play and swing area and acres of land to explore--allowing for lots of fun and relaxation for all!
The house opens to an open plan living room with fifteen foot ceilings, a huge brick fireplace and cozy furnishings with a flat screen TV and dining area surrounded by glass patio doors that lead to a wraparound deck. The open kitchen has two separate sinks (great for more than one cook), granite counters and a breakfast bar. Two bedrooms are on this level: one master king with glorious views on the water side and a flat screen TV, and a second room with two twin beds, as well as a full deluxe bath. On the ground floor there are two twin bedded rooms, a full bath and laundry room, and a young adult/children's play area with full size ping pong table, a flat screen TV, and a door leading to the yard, two hanging swings, hammock and outdoor shower. The house has high speed internet access, three flat screen TVs, gas grill, charcoal grill, fire pit, ping pong table and a fully appointed kitchen with every amenity. Tennis on private courts is available free of charge. Four new kayaks available for use as well: Ocean Kayak Malibu Two (two seater), Ocean Kayak Frenzy (single) & two Lifetime Wave Youth Kayak with paddles and life vests. Four brand new Wavestorm paddle boards available, too.
Last but not least, this contemporary home is part of a 50+ acre family estate that dates back to the 1860s. The house looks out onto Ipswich Bay and has great views of sunsets across the water as well as views of Crane's Beach, Plum Island, the New Hampshire coast and Mount Agamenticus Conservation Region in Maine. In addition to the private sandy beaches on the estate, the Gloucester area has many long sandy beaches to explore--some of which are great for surfing, skim boarding, scuba diving, snorkeling and nighttime fishing or stargazing. There are nearby quarries, including one in Halibut Point State Park, which makes for a great kayaking destination on calm days. Finally, downtown Gloucester and Rockport are close at hand with their many wonderful restaurants, boutiques, nautical history and antique stores.

Summary: So very welcoming for kids of all ages but especially ones! Plenty of toys and games for both little and big kids: Legos, board games and kayaks (sm, med and larger) to name a few. We’ll be coming back for our 5th or 6th time in August 2025!

Summary: We have been annual renters at this property for several years now, and once again my family and I had a fabulous stay. We enjoyed several sunny beach days and two rainy days. The house is equipped with everything you could possibly need for both types of weather. It has a variety of indoor and outdoor games and beach supplies, including chairs, umbrellas, and kayaks. My husband is the chef of the family, so he appreciates the well-stocked kitchen; he only packs his knives and spices when we vacation here. New this year was more comfortable outdoor seating. A curved couch on the deck provided a cozy spot for reading and birdwatching, while the table seating and swinging hammock and chairs under the deck offered a shady spot to enjoy the ocean breezes. This house has become our annual family getaway, and we plan on returning next year to create more wonderful memories.

Summary: Very nice property on the west side of Gloucester with ocean view and glorious sunsets. The house was great for 4 of us (2 adults, 2 kids 4 and 7). Air conditioning worked great and kept us cool. All the appliances worked great including laundry and dishwasher and fridge/freezer. I love having a toaster oven! We used the kayaks and paddleboards on the water. Overall a great house and we would come back for sure.

Summary: Each year as a family we gather for a week of summer vacation together. This year we hit the jackpot! Highlights of this beautiful rental include: magnificent water views, sunsets, a garage full of outdoor toys for young and old, 2 sandy beaches within a short walk, a great room with ample seating for all, a deck with comfortable seating, a gas outdoor fireplace, toys galore inside the house, ping pong table and rec room large enough for all and a responsive owner who graciously left us lovely welcoming gifts. We truly felt at home!

Summary: The layout of the house is perfect for families, with the primary bedroom, second bedroom and full bath on the main (upper) floor and the remaining two bedrooms and second bathroom downstairs. The primary bedroom, living room, and deck all have amazing views. We enjoyed catching sunset every night. There is a great game room with ping pong and TV downstairs, and the house is fully stocked with linens, towels, and all the beach gear you could want. The house is a very short walk to the private beach that is perfect for a quick kayak or paddle board session. The hosts gave very thorough instructions and were available throughout our stay. They could not have made our stay any easier. Overall a great house in a great location with great hosts.

Summary: Over the years my family and I have returned to this same property several times, which I think says it all when you go looking for a vacation property. The location of the property is unique and very special. Bird watching & frogs croaking are just 2 of the natural features besides the awesome ocean views and safe swimming areas. It is quiet & peaceful however it is close to everything you might need, be it grocery store of dinner out. The owners are so easy to communicate with and quickly address any questions or concerns you might have. The house is LOADED with games, yard & swim activities, kitchen items, comfy seating and plenty of room for all in a 4 bedroom/2 bath house. Even rainy days are fun! You will not be disappointed in any way with a to stay at this property.

Summary: I have spent many weeks in Gloucester during the Fourth of July week. I try to get a new home each time, and this one was my absolute favorite! The home is located on a very quiet and peaceful piece of land that provided the serenity and tranquility I needed. The home had everything I could possibly need, including perfect views, comfortable beds, and beautiful surroundings. Very convenient location in regards to nearby shopping and restaurants, but I rarely wanted to leave the deck. I highly recommend this place!!!

Summary: My family could not have enjoyed our stay more. The setting is picture perfect with a spectacular view. The house was incredibly comfortable and had everything we needed (and more). We enjoyed exploring the area and also just spending time relaxing at the house and at the beach just a two minute walk away. We went out to several delicious meals - all restaurants recommended by the hosts in our welcome letter. Karen and Ames so thoughtfully curate information about the house and area for their guests. We always felt incredibly well cared for and comfortable. Five stars all the way.
